Gearing up for WordCamp Kathmandu, Nepal 2016 #WCKTM

We are all set to organize the fifth WordCamp event in Nepal, the first WordCamp Kathmandu, Nepal 2016. This year it was decided that the WordCamps would be city-based rather than country. I could go on about it at length but you can read about it here.

Just this morning, I received the approval for WordCamp Kathmandu, Nepal from WordCamp Central. So, this year I am realizing my dream of organizing the event, on a city-wise basis. I am really excited and have a lot of ideas on my mind having recently come back from WordCamp Europe 2016. I will share with you all that’s due to happen in WordCamp Kathmandu, Nepal 2016.

I would like to invite fellow WordPressers or anybody who might be interested in WordCamp Kathmandu, Nepal 2016. The WordPress Nepal community is getting bigger every day and we aspire to make it better with this event. Your presence and participation are what makes it successful, it is the essence of the community.

The event will be held at Nepal Administrative Staff College, Jawalakhel on 19th November 2016.

Furthermore, those who are interested in the sponsorship of WordCamp Kathmandu, Nepal 2016, we will be opening the sponsorship applications soon. Similarly, for those who want to present themselves as Speakers in the event, the applications will be online shortly.

I really look forward to this WordCamp as it is the first city-based WordCamp in Nepal. I am enthusiastic towards the prospects of WordCamp events in other cities like Pokhara, Chitwan and the like. Being city-based doesn’t make it secluded. You can feel free to connect with us and network for any help you might need. I am excited considering that there will be more WordCamps and more opportunities for exclusive geek-out.

There are a few months left to it but they will be busy as we aspire to make it one of the best WordCamps in Nepal till date. I will keep you posted over the coming months.

Hello. My name is Sakin Shrestha, and I am a technology entrepreneur from Nepal. I am passionate about helping this sector grow, for many reasons. The technology sector creates jobs for many young Nepalis who would otherwise migrate to foreign countries. It lets Nepali professionals develop skills for a fast-changing global workplace, and compete at a high level with anyone, anywhere in the world. If it grows, it will provide a viable career option for many young Nepalis, and help us reap the benefits of a global economy.
