WordCamp Europe 2016 Vienna: The Experience

WordCamp Europe 2016. Funny how time flies when you’re having fun.

In case you missed, Last Tuesday, Yam, Suren, Kosish and myself packed our bags and made way to Vienna, the host of this year’s WordCamp Europe.

Like the previous editions, it was a big event. Biggest yet with around 2,000 attendees. Overall, a very well organized and run thanks to a fabulous team of organizers and volunteers. I was among the volunteers this time, my first time volunteering. So, this time, it was a bit more special to me personally.

I will be jotting down some highlights of my days in Austria as I am backpacking to Venice and then Paris. Read here. A more detailed blog post after my return.

Hello. My name is Sakin Shrestha, and I am a technology entrepreneur from Nepal. I am passionate about helping this sector grow, for many reasons. The technology sector creates jobs for many young Nepalis who would otherwise migrate to foreign countries. It lets Nepali professionals develop skills for a fast-changing global workplace, and compete at a high level with anyone, anywhere in the world. If it grows, it will provide a viable career option for many young Nepalis, and help us reap the benefits of a global economy.
